Dunklin County, Missouri is now home to a new lottery scam, one that targets victims over social media, most notably, on Facebook. The scammers are reaching out to individuals on Facebook, claiming they won $1 million. The scammers then ask the individual for $1,500 to be sent to them in order to receive the lottery money. The scammers then claim to send $1 million in lottery money. The winner is then instructed to take the check to a bank, open a separate account, send them $3,000 and retain the balance of the check. This is illegal and is a scam.
